Connection Process Guide

Generate Square Access Token

Log in to the Square Developer Dashboard and create an application. Go to Credentials, select Sandbox or Production mode, and copy your Personal Access Token (PAT).

Authorize in AirSign Portal

Navigate to Square Integration under developer settings. Paste your Access Token into the connection field and click Connect to Square. This establishes a secure authentication bridge.

Select & Map Menu Items

Once authorized, AirSign pulls your complete product catalog. Check the boxes next to the items you want to include in your digital display (such as coffees, specials, or side orders).

Link Menu Board & Activate AIPRO AI

Select your digital menu board image in the dropdown. AirSign.ai's layout analyzer will map the text items on the graphic template to the active Square catalog, creating matching pricing region overlays.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How fast does the synchronization propagate?

Usually in under a minute! Square catalog webhooks trigger an AirSign sync immediately. The updated image overlay is rendered in about 5–10 seconds and broadcast to your TV receivers which poll/listen to changes.

What happens if my Personal Access Token (PAT) expires?

Square PAT tokens do not expire automatically unless revoked. However, if your token is deleted or updated in the Developer Console, AirSign will display a red "Connection Failed" badge. Simply copy the new token and re-enter it to restore services without losing your mapped item locations.

Do I need a separate token for Sandbox vs Production?

Yes. Square isolates sandbox environments from production databases. When configuring in the developer portal, generate a Sandbox PAT for staging/testing, or a Production PAT for live commercial menus.

Can the AI match the specific font/style on my custom menu design?

Absolutely. The airsign.ai menu board parser detects text colors, bounds, and font sizes around the designated price regions and stamps the updated prices utilizing corresponding styles to keep overlays transparent and natural.
